The Races of Caribdus

Human

There are no humans native to Caribdus, save for those born here that are less than 13 years of age. Most humans are "visitors" here, drawn into the realm of Caribdus from Earth's oceans, spanning time periods from 1400 to 1815. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Masaquani

The most common race in Caribdus, they resemble humans very closely but with much more variance; with ranges of height, mass, skin, eye, and hair color outside the typical spectrum of humans. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Atani

Graceful winged folk that look like lithe, frail humanoids with membranous wings that they can use to glide on air currents, making them obvious candidates for scouts, couriers, and messengers. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Doreen

Gray-to-blue skinned humanoids that are an aquatic race of hunters and foragers. Reclusive and somber, but valued as scouts and guides. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Grael

Bulky and burly gray-skinned humanoids that are best described as walrus-men. Simple but strong, they are known for their natural power and hardiness and are the only race native to the frigid northern region of Arfk. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Kehana

Fish-like humanoids with scales, webbed limbs, bulbous eyes and razor-sharp claws and teeth. Many of them try to integrate into civilized society but their appearance speaks volumes of their vicious nature. They are an aquatic race and are able to survive comfortably underwater. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Kraken

An aquatic humanoid race whose prominent feature is a mass of tentacles about their face. Their history is as rich and old as Caribdus itself, and they are both feared and prized for their grasp of arcane arts. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Half-Ugak

Hybrids of human and masaquani with the reviled "red men," half-ugaks are not generally accepted by civilization, but their inherent strength and penchant for violence is a force to be reckoned with. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt

Scurillian

Curious creatures resembling giant intelligent crabs, they are Caribdus's youngest race, and also its most sparse. Besides their natural armor and pincers, they are known to have excellent minds for details and memorization. 50 Fathoms description and rules excerpt
